Our Permanent Family

Our permanent family of cats (those not for sale) is currently in flux as we’ve realized we have too many - especially too many males that are trying to figure out who is king around here…sometimes being very noisy about it. As we know you might be interested in where your kitten came from, we will include our permanent brood here for you to see.

We plan to have 5-6 permanent cats when all is said and done and think those below will be it - but stay tuned for changes! We are naturally trying to get a harmonious household so as some grow older, we are watching for personality conflicts. The only 3 we are definite about right now are Phoebe, Pudding and Georgie. We don’t necessarily stick with purebloods but look for disposition and coloring when we are picking cats for breeding and love).

We also have 2 miniature schnauzer dogs, Sophie and Shelby, not shown here.

Phoebe

Phoebe - Ragaper Male

Phoebe in peanuts = happy cat! 12-17-08

A Persian male born March 2 from Marbles & Ramses, this is Lori’s baby with a very sweet disposition and a real cuddler. He’s a real fluff bunny with a huge wide tail and more fur than body!

He is very laid back and takes everything (and everyone) in stride but loves to play with the other cats and diving into packing peanuts when Lori gets a shipment in. He also makes her take the occasional break by climbing onto her chest while she is working snuggling into her neck for a nice nap. He and Pudding will eventually be our main males we think.

Pudding - Ragaper Male

Pudding an is all cream color Ragaper from Marbles and Ramses with very little white and is very, very affectionate. He is the most likely to plop down in the middle of our laps no matter what we are doing and is often laying on my arms as I type. He has the widest, fullest tail we have ever seen!

He is very playful and loves wrestling often chasing the younger kittens around the house playing with them. As you can see, he also loves shoes!

He is one of only 2 we have ever had in this lovely buff/cream color and was bottle raised when Marbles didn’t have a lot of milk.

Simon

Simon

Simon - Male. “The clean one” we thought he was solid white, but he is now developing a slight blush/peach seal point markings in his tail, ears and face - very faint right now though it might develop darker. He has beautiful blue eyes.

The super lover of the group (though I think Jayne is now vying for that title), Simon will be on you a lot of the time and will probably sleep near too. He loves to watch TV with you or curl up on the desk near or on you. We think we are keeping this big boy.

Georgie - Persian Female

A Persian female, Georgie is a snuggle bunny and loves being petted and held when she wants to be. She is on the small side, only 7 pounds, with beautiful deep gold eyes.

She and Isis will be our 2 main females for breeding we think - both are so pretty with a great mix of colors which should give us a lot of variation in kittens. She has had 1 litter and is a very good mother giving us lovely kittens!

Isis

Isis - Ramamuffin female

Our ragamuffin female, she and Ramses have been very prolific, even more than we had planned. We keep trying to give her a break and keep her from getting pregnant every time she is in heat, but she and Ramses have other ideas it seems. She is about 3 1/2 years old.

Isis is very loving and a very very good mother, though a bit more independent than some of our cats and prefers finding a quiet place to nap rather than in the midst of all the others. She is a beautiful calico primarily gray with splashes of white and tan coloring. She gets into an occasional tiff with Marbles or Kali, but is generally laid back and sweet. She has a bit shorter fur than some of her babies have had and a very cute, skinny tail! She has lovely deep gold eyes.

Ramses

Ramses

Our ragamuffin male is about 4 years old, he has been Lori’s baby coming when she calls him and affectionate, though not so much for being held. He will jump up on the bed, table, whatever and rub against you a lot wanting to be petted every time you walk into the room.

He is the most vocal of the cats, sometimes walking around meowing for attention. He apparently is trying to live up to his namesake Ramses the Great who had over 100 children as he is very prolific producing beautiful kittens - even with Marbles that we thought could no longer get pregnant!

Unfortunately, he and Pebbles want to battle it out for King of the House, and Ramses has now decided to start fighting with the other males as well, so we have decided to put him up for sale. Ramses would do best in a house with all female cats or where he is the only one. He is only aggressive with other male cats - he loves the dogs and would probably do very well with children as well once he got to know them.
